Langley firefighters hose down a fire inside a metal recycling yard near 48 Avenue and 223A Street on Tuesday morning.
The accidental blaze apparently started when a chop saw sparked some gas that was left inside the tank of a discarded lawn mower.
At its height the fire generated a thick plume of smoke and flames as high as one storey.
Two propane tanks exploded before the blaze was brought under control.
No one was injured.
