Aldergrove man faces child sex charges

A 41-year-old Aldergrove man faces 16 charges, including ones for serious sexual crimes, over a three-year period.

The Langley RCMP has announced charges against Kelly Glen Isbister.

The crimes are alleged to have taken place between June 2010 and October 2013.

Isbister is charged with one count of possessing child pornography and two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance. The other charges include four counts of sexual assault, three counts of sexual interference and three counts of invitation to sexual touching.

“Initially Isbister was arrested and released from custody with conditions detailed on a recognizance; however, police now allege he has breached those conditions three times,” said Langley RMCP Cpl. Holly Marks.

He is also charged with three counts of breach of recognizance.

Marks explained that the police will release very few details of the offenses because of issues arising out of publication bans by the courts, and to protect the male victims.

“Sadly, it is possible there may be other individuals who have fallen victim to similar crimes and have not come forward for a variety of possible reasons,” Marks added.

The RCMP is encouraging anyone who has been a victim of crimes such as the ones alleged in this case or by other people to contact the police.

“It can be arranged for Client Support and Victim Services to provide support and assistance, as this may be a very difficult time,” Marks said.

Individuals wishing to speak to investigators are asked to call Langley Serious Crime Investigator Const. Amanda Smith at 604-514-5806.
