Angie Quaale signs up to run for Langley Township councillor

Langley business person Angie Quaale made her candidacy for Langley Township councillor official when she submitted her signed nomination

papers shortly after the nomination period opened on Tuesday.

Nominations close on Oct. 10. 

“I am so excited about running for Town council,” said Quaale.  “I’m proud to live in such a thriving and vibrant community, and I’m ready to help make it even better.”

Quaale's candidacy is endorsed by Tim Lounsbury and Beverlee Rasmussen.

“I was delighted to stand at Angie’s side today as she joined the race for a seat on Township council,” said Lounsbury. “Over the years I have been impressed by her great contributions to our community. Serving as a councillor will only increase her ability to make a positive difference.”

A retired banker, Lounsbury has been an active volunteer in the community since moving to Langley 40 years ago. In 2004 he was awarded the H.D. Stafford Good Citizen of the Year Award by the Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce.  

Rasmussen is an award-winning entrepreneur, business coach and longtime community booster living in Brookswood for the last 28 years. She served as the first female president of the Rotary Club of Langley Central in 2006 and was recently named 2014 Business Coach of the Year by the International Coach Federation.

Rasmussen echoed Lounsbury’s sentiments: “I admire Angie’s passionate leadership, her vision, and her ability to bring people together to achieve common goals. I am proud to support her campaign for Township Council.”  

Quaale’s campaign focuses on three areas of Langley life: agriculture, transportation, and economic development.
