Know anyone who should be Langley Senior of the Year?

Nominations are open for Langley Senior of the Year.

The annual program through the Langley Seniors’ Resource Society is looking for an outstanding man and woman in the community to be named the 2014 Seniors of the Year.

One woman and one man will be chosen. Some years they are married but often they are not.

The key criteria is community involvement. They must have contributed volunteer serve in the City or Township. As well, they must be age 65 or older and lived in either municipality for at least five years.

Nomination forms will be available at the Langley City and Township offices, Langley Chamber of Commerce office, at the Langley Seniors Resource Centre as well as various local community organizations and businesses.

Forms can also be accessed online from the website www.lsrs.ca.

The deadline to submit nominations is May 10.

The seniors selected for this award will be introduced to the community on Monday, June 2 as part of Seniors Week.

The recipients will be honoured by the community at the Seniors of the Year luncheon on June 4seniors resource centre, 20605 51B Ave.
