Twice in the past month, members of Township council and some senior staff have broken bread with its unionized employees.
Earlier, it was CUPE members who joined council at the dinner break between the regular Monday afternoon and evening meetings. On Monday, it was the turn of firefighters who belong to the IAAF.
The purpose, explained administrator Mark Bakken, is to foster a greater understanding of the function and direction of the unions.
The informal event is co-ordinated by the executives of the union.
