A 42 year old Langley woman is in critical but stable condition in hospital after being struck by a pick up truck while she was walking through a crosswalk on 200 Street on Wednesday.
Around 2:45 p.m., Langley RCMP were called to the intersection of 200 Street and 53rd Avenue where the victim was crossing the intersection, in a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a 2004 Dodge truck that had just made a left turn southbound onto 200th Street, said Langley RCMP Sgt. Ravinder Pawar.
The victim was transported via air ambulance from the scene after suffering head injuries. She is in critical but stable condition at Royal Columbian Hospital.
Langley Victim Services unit attended to provide assistance to those involved.
The Integrated Collision Analyst and Reconstruction team is assisting Langley traffic Service in the investigation. It isn't known at this time if she was walking to pick up her child at Nicomekl Elementary school or not.
The first report indicated that this was a girl, not a woman that was hit. The Times apologizes for the error.
