LEPS offers event for moms

Moms can enjoy high tea as part of an afternoon of activities hosted by the Langley Environmental Partners Society on May 10.

From noon until 3 p.m., LEPS has activities at the Langley Demonstration Garden at the Derek Doubleday Arboretum grounds, on Fraser Highway at 209th Street.

A container gardening session is at 12:30 p.m. to teach how to make the most out of limited amounts of space.

At 1:30 p.m. learn about seed saving. Local organic farmer and plant breeder David Catzel of Glorious Organics Co-operative shares his expertise on seed saving.

People are invited to bring their saved or leftover seeds to participate in a free exchange alongside local experts and enthusiasts.

The event is also an opportunity to find out about community resources and to purchase garden items such as seedlings and young fruit trees.

High tea will be available to purchase and there’s kids crafts.

The events take place rain or shine and there are covered areas at the demonstration garden.
