Oscar Carrillo, 37, of Langley was found guilty on March 10 of assaulting a police officer and assault causing bodily harm.
Carrillo was given a suspended sentence and ordered to complete 12 months probation and pay a $50 victim surcharge.
The crime occurred on Feb. 18, 2010 when Langley RCMP arrived at a Willoughby home to investigate a report of a domestic dispute.
Two officers entered the residence to check on the well-being of the occupants.
When police located Carrillo, they advised him he was under arrest for assault. He failed to comply with commands and when an officer took his arm, Carrillo assaulted one of the officers.
The second officer radioed dispatch with an update and turned to help her partner. Carrillo knocked the radio from her grasp and continued to assault the first officer.
Pepper spray apparently had no effect in subduing Carrillo, who took hold of the second officer and pushed both members into a glass table which broke on impact.
The fight continued for some time before the officers were able make an arrest.
Carrillo was charged with two counts of assault, two counts of assaulting a police officer, assault causing bodily harm, and three counts of uttering threats.
