Meetings showcase initiatives by Langley City

City politicians and staff will meet with the public at three sessions.

Langley City residents have a chance to meet face-to-face with their municipal representatives and hear about local initiatives.

Three neighbourhood meetings have been scheduled based on where people live.

People in the Douglas and Nicomekl neighbourhoods (the most northerly portion of the City extending as far south as the Nicomekl River) can attend a meeting Oct. 5 at Nicomekl Elementary, 20050 53rd Ave.

The Simonds and Blacklock meeting is Oct. 11 at H.D. Stafford Middle School, 20441 Grade Cres. Simonds goes from the River south to the hydro right of way near 46th Avenue and from 196th Street to 204th. Blacklock’s neighbourhood boundaries are from 204th Street to the eastern boundary with the Township (about 212th Street. It runs from the river south to Grade Crescent/48th Avenue.

The most southern neighbourhoods of the small municipality (four square miles in total) are Alice Brown and Uplands. Their meeting is Oct. 19 at Alice Brown Elementary, 20011 44th Ave.

All the meetings run 6 to 8 p.m. The public can receive the most up-to-date information about current and future City projects, and City programs and services, as well as give input on new and current initiatives including the City’s rebranding efforts.
