A man is still in grave condition in hospital Monday, with life-threatening injuries, after a crash in Aldergrove during the long weekend.
Mounties were called to a serious-injury collision in the 2800-block of 273rd Street just after midnight Saturday.
They arrived to find a right-sided drive Mitsubishi Lancer had smashed into a parked Dodge 3500 pickup truck, explained RCMP Cpl. Holly Largy.
“The Lancer was southbound on 273rd Street when failed to negotiate the slight curve in the road and crossed over to the northbound lane colliding with the legally parked Dodge,” she said.
The 38-year-old driver was taken to hospital by ground ambulance and is expected to recover from his injuries.
The passenger, however, had to be airlifted to hospital for treatment.
“Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the collision,” Largy said.
The Integrated Collision Analysis and Recontruction Service (ICARS) attended the scene to assist with the investigation, which will remain with Langley RCMP’s traffic services.
