Pedestrian critically injured in Walnut Grove crash

A 64-year-old Langley woman was hit while crossing 208 Street on Sunday. The 80-year-old driver stayed at the scene.

A 64-year-old Langley woman is in critical condition after being struck while crossing 208 Street in Walnut Grove on Sunday afternoon.

A 64-year-old Langley woman is in critical condition after being hit while walking at the intersection of 208 Street and 87 Avenue on Sunday, Dec. 4.

Around 2 p.m., a Honda SUV was westbound on 87 Avenue turning left to head south on 208 Street. The pedestrian was crossing 208 Street eastbound when she was struck.

The 80-year-old Langley woman driving the Honda remained at the scene and spoke with attending officers, said Langley RCMP Cpl. Holly Largy. The pedestrian was taken to Royal Columbian Hospital where she remains in critical condition, she said.

Integrated Collision analysts assisted Langley Traffic Services with this ongoing investigation.

The road was closed for sometime.
