Langley RCMP officers responded with guns drawn to reports of someone with a weapon, but found only a kid with a pellet gun on Monday.

In the middle of the day, several officers responded to reports of someone walking a dog while carrying a firearm in the BC Hydro right of way area near 48th Avenue and 200th Street in Langley City.

When they arrived, they found the young person was just carrying a pellet gun, said Cpl. Holly Largy, spokesperson for the Langley RCMP.

Police have repeatedly warned B.C. residents not to carry replicas or pellet guns that resemble real weapons, because officers will respond as if they are facing a real gun.
