A teenager learning to drive took out a corner of the Best Western hotel on Langley Bypass Monday night. No one was injured.

It was a teenager learning how to drive who took out the corner of the Best Western Plus Langley Inn at 5978 Glover Rd. Monday night, say police.

Around 9:30 p.m., Langley emergency crews were called after a Honda CRV crashed into the southeast corner of the hotel.

It's believed the teenager was learning to drive in the hotel's parking lot when the driver mistook the gas for the brake, said Cpl Holly Largy. The driver’s mom was in the vehicle and attempted to pull the emergency brake, but that didn't stop the SUV from careening into the building. No one was injured but there is significant structural damage to the hotel.
