A Brookswood-Fernridge neighbourhood rally is planned for this Sunday, July 10, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Noel Booth Park.
The rally is being organized “to help spread the word — development applications are being put to and passed through the Township of Langley council ahead of our promised new Official Community Plan,” reads the event page on Facebook.
Brookswood resident and one of the organizers of the rally writes: “We, as a group - Brookswood-Fernridge Neighbours would like the council to stop passing development applications based on the 1987 plan.
To not accept that significant environmental considerations (including trees, water, wildlife and storm water management) need to be addressed prior to approving these developments would be grossly negligent on the part of this council.”
The rally also comes a day before a public hearing planned for Monday regarding a development proposal for 72 single family lots at 198 Street and 32 Avenue.
Noel Booth Park is located on 36 Avenue and 202 Street.
