Langley RCMP is reminding holiday shoppers to ensure they have left nothing inside their vehicles to tempt thieves.

’Tis the season to be jolly.

Unfortunately, there are plenty of Grinches out there, busily breaking into vehicles and looking to gift themselves with other people’s hard-earned items, said Langley RCMP.

Vehicles parked in Langley are being targeted heavily by thieves, robbing them of your property and you of your Christmas spirit, said Cpl. Holly Largy.

“As I sit here and try to think of sparkly new ways to encourage people to protect themselves, I am filled with frustration,” said Largy.

“You need to help yourself on this one — don’t leave anything in your car.”

Here is a list of The Twelve Thefts of Christmas that you can stop by simply emptying your car.

1. Cellphone

2. Wallet

3. Credit Cards

4. Christmas Presents

5. GPS

6.  Money

7. Purse

8. Garage Door Opener

9. Keys

10. Sunglasses
