The walking track at the new Timms community centre in Langley City at 20399 Douglas Crescent has proven to be one of the most popular features of the new facility.

A report to council on Monday shows more than 2,100 people used the track and games room between Feb. 24, when the new centre opened, and March 31.

There were nearly 3,400 visitors in all during the same period. The actual numbers are likely higher because some are forgetting to swipe the entry card that allows staff to track usage.

Timms is planning an open house for Saturday, April 9, featuring free classes and demonstrations. It will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
