Trust fund helps family

The funeral will be held Feb. 1 for the two-year-old Glen Valley boy who died in a house fire last week.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. at the Fort Langley Evangelical Free Church, located at 8870 Glover Rd., and is open to those who wish to pay their respects.

The fire broke out around 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 24. The boy’s parents and two other children survived. Firefighters and paramedics worked to resuscitate the child after he was pulled from the burning home.

Funds to help the family pay for funeral costs and other expenses after the tragedy have been established at two local credit unions.

The Evangelical Free Church was also taking physical donations, but after a few days they were overwhelmed with items from the community. The family will be establishing a website at a later date listing some larger items they will need as they rebuild their lives, but for now they are not accepting physical goods.

Donations can be made at the Coast Capital Credit Union for the Langley Home Fire Fund.

Members of the credit union can call 604-517-7000 to transfer a donation directly, and all others can bring it to the Fort Langley branch.

Donations are also being accepted at the Westminster Savings credit union, under the account number 453953208.
