Two-alarm fire at CKF Products in Langley City

An early morning two-alarm fire on the assembly line at CKF Products in the 5700 block of Production Way took several hours to quell.

Around 2:30 a.m. Langley City firefighters responded to a report of a fire .

Crews arrived and were directed by workers to a fire inside a building.

Smoke could be seen coming out of the top vents of a very large warehouse. Crews stretched lines to make an aggressive attack and bring the fire under control.

It took several hours to extinguish and clean up after the fire.

The factory makes moulded pulp and foam products like disposable plates, egg and fruit cartons.

CKF is the second largest employer in the City of Langley with 250 workers, second only to The Cascades Casino, Coast Hotel and convention centre which employs 550 people.
