An unlicensed drug recovery home in the Willoughby area — with 22 people living inside —  was recently shut down by Langley RCMP.

That information was part of the report delivered by Langley RCMP Insp. Peter Jadis, who spoke at the Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce meeting on Tuesday at the Langley Golf Centre. Jadis told the audience that the police, with the help of Township bylaw officers, have shut down a number of homes along the 208 Street corridor, which have been serving as drug recovery homes.

“The RCMP support the idea of recovery homes, but they have to go through the legitimate processes to do that,” Jadis said.

“We’ve been able to shut down the majority of these residences.”
