Wire theft causes 900 people to lose phone service in Langley Township

Telus is working to restore service, but it won't be fully restored until Thursday evening.

Wire theft left hundreds of Langley Telus customers without phone service near 72 Avenue and 208 Street.

Telus is working to restore service to customers after thieves cut and stole copper wire on Thursday morning (Aug. 21).

The damage was extensive and  left about 900 customers without home phone service.

Due to the extent of the damage, Telus anticipated services would not be fully restored until Thursday evening.

The thieves also damaged nearby fibre optic cable in the process.

Langley RCMP has been notified and is currently investigating the theft.
