Notice of Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given that the Township of Langley Council will meet and hold a Public Hearing.

At the Public Hearing, all persons who believe their interest in property is affected by the proposed bylaws shall be afforded a reasonable opportunity to be heard or to present written submissions respecting matters contained in the bylaws that are the subject of the hearing.

Bylaw 1979 No. 1842 Amendment

Bylaw No. 5994

Purpose: Bylaw No. 5994 proposes to amend the Official Community Plan to require family-friendly units as part of new apartment development with the following conditions:

• Require a minimum of 15% of the total project units to have two-bedrooms.

• Require a minimum of 10% of the total project units to have three-bedrooms.

• Require an overall average project unit size to be no less than 699.65 square feet (65 square metres).

These measures aim to increase the stock of two and three-bedroom units in the Township. A range of unit sizes will be required to meet the overall project average unit size by including two-bedroom, one-bedroom and studio apartments within apartment residential projects.

And take further notice that a copy of Township of Langley Bylaw Nos. 5994 and 6004 and relevant background material may be inspected between the hours of 8:30am and 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, from April 18 to 29, both inclusive, at the Community Development Division Development Services counter, 2nd floor, Township of Langley Civic Facility, 20338 – 65 Avenue, or online at www.tol.ca/hearing.
