BOSCHMAN, Annie Katherine
Annie left this world peacefully on the morning of January 27, 2009 surrounded by 3 of her children at the Cowichan District Hospital in Duncan B.C. Annie was born on a farm in southern Saskatchewan on Sept 17, 1917. She is predeceased by her husband Joseph; her daughters Joan Emery and Dr. Marie Quinn. She has 2 remaining siblings John and Lena and 6 children Bill (Charmaine) Boschman, Paul (Judy) Boschman, Theresa (Gary) Boschman, Robert (Sharon) Boschman, Hugo (Vicki) Boschman and Dr. Cindy (Dr. Will) Boschman/Finn. Annie is loved by 17 grandchildren & 10 great-grandchildren. Annie met and married Joseph in Lemsford, Saskatchewan on December 29, 1936. They raised 7 of their 8 children on a small farm with no electricity or indoor plumbing. In 1954 they moved to Saskatoon where the older children were able to continue their education and the youngest (Cindy) was born. When Joseph died, Annie moved to first Cloverdale and then Abbotsford B.C. where she was close to her daughter Joan. Annie's last five years were spent in Duncan on Vancouver Island and her last 5 months were spent in Cerwydden Care home where she was very comfortable and felt at home. The love of Annie's life was her family and her Catholic Faith. Her family not only extended to her children and grandchildren but to her many nieces, nephews and friends. When you were her friend it was for life and she devoted a great deal of time staying in touch with her family and friends. Annie was famous for her cooking, her quilting and her hospitality. It is hard to imagine having a better mother and we will miss her dearly but will never forget her. Annie's body may have finally worn out but we know she lives on and we will meet again. A service will be held in Regina, Saskatchewan on February 14 at 10:00 A.M, at Holy Family Parish, with Prayers February 13 at 7:00 P.M. The family wishes to extend thanks to the staff at Cerwydden, and Cowichan District Hospital; her doctors, Dr. Saunders & Dr. Icamura; & Father Frank.
