Bessie Alida Jane CAIN

December 9, 2004

CAIN: Bessie Alida Jane (Fister), passed into the loving arms of Jesus, eacefully at home, with daughter Julie by her side, on December 9, 2004. Predeceased by husband Wesley, parents Ivar and Levina, 2 sisters and 10 brothers. Loving Mother of Wally (Carol), Margaret (Garry), Marilyn (Jim), Norma (Ron), Jim (Suong), Lu Ann (Wayne), Julie (Keith), 18 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren.

Bessie was born September 22, 1914, in Big Beaver, Saskatchewan. She married Wesley December 15, 1939, and resided in Regina, Saskatchewan. In 1945, Wesley, Bessie, Wally, Margaret and Marilyn moved to B.C., settling on a small farm in south Langley where Norma, Jim and Lu Ann were born. Moving from the prairies, Bessie was in awe of the green, luscious vegetation out west and immediately adopted Langley as home. In 1955 they moved into Langley City where Julie was born and where Bessie lived for almost 50 years, in Dr. McBurney's house on Douglas Crescent. Bessie was caring, giving and loving. She had a wonderful sense of humor and always had a smile and word of encouragement for everyone. She loved to crochet her ''cuddle blankets'' and gave them to anyone she thought might enjoy one. She also kept busy with crossword puzzles, daily walks and playing cards. She loved horses, loved to dance and had a great love of music, whether it was learning to play the piano in her early 60's, or singing along with the Gaither Gospel Hour every Friday night. Her faith was strong and steady as she demonstrated many times to her children. She valued people and treasured visits from family and friends. Bessie had the gift of hospitality and everyone was welcome in her home. She leaves a legacy of love and will be forever remembered and missed by all who had the joy of knowing her. A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, December 14th, 2004 at Christian Life Assembly in Langley.

''Her children arise and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he raises her; Many women do noble things,

But you surpass them all.''

Proverbs 31: 28-29
