Betty Lou Chell

In loving memory ~
Betty Lou Chell aged 92 years passed away peacefully 28 October 2022. She was pre-deceased by her husband Dick (December 2017). Betty Lou is lovingly remembered by her children Anne, Alan (Linda), Joe (Pat) and Nancy (Bill), 12 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren with one more on the way. She was predeceased by one son in law.
Betty Lou and Dick met at Normal School. After teaching for a couple of years Betty Lou stayed home with the family. Once they were grown she returned to teaching, teaching kindergarten for many years.
She was an avid volunteer through out her life - including volunteering at Sharon United Church in many capacities, Canadian Cancer Society, Buttons and Bows Square Dance Club, and Langley Centennial Museum. Betty Lou enjoyed entertaining and there was always room for one more around the table. Family was important to her and she would do almost anything for a grandchild or great grand child! She enjoyed baking, growing roses, camping, hiking, reading, card games and travelling. Disneyland with grandchildren and great grandchildren was always a favourite destination.
A celebration of Betty Lou's life will be held 12 November 2022 at 3:30 pm at the United Churches of Langley, Murrayville - 21562 Old Yale Road, Langley. Reception following.
In lieu of flowers it was Betty Lou's wish that donations be made to a charity of your choice.
