1921-2021 ~ It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Charles Cuthbert at Langley Memorial Hospital on February 9th 2021. He was predeceased by his wife of 75 years, Gudrun (Trudy) and his son, Garry. He will be lovingly remembered by his family, including his remaining children Carynne, Charlie and Dean.
Charles was a loving husband, devoted to Trudy. Together, they generously supported the wellness and educational endeavors of their family, including their 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Charles' life was filled with family, community service, the United Church and music. Throughout his 99 years, he was an inspiration, living an exemplary life with strong moral character and dedication to service.
Charles spent his career in education. After graduating from the University of Saskatchewan, Charles and Trudy moved to BC, where he began his career as a teacher and eventually served as the Superintendent of Schools in Nelson, Oliver and Langley. An excellent administrator, Charles worked tirelessly on behalf of the students. He was a lifelong member of both the Masonic Lodge and the Rotary Club.
The family thanks the staff at Langley Memorial Hospital for making his last days as comfortable as possible.
