It is with deep sadness we announce the death of Derek Kent, a man full of love and compassion. Derek will always be remembered for his big smile, his love for his wife and family, his strong faith and his relationship with the Lord. To his children he will always be “the best Dad in the world. His memory will be cherished forever. Derek is survived by loving wife Anne and children; Amelia, David (Andrea), Peter, Christina (C.J.) and grandchildren, Cole and Delvin.
Special thank-you to Dr. Blackwood, the nurses, volunteers and spiritual care director and music therapist at Christine Morrison Hospice. Thank-you also to the kitchen staff who brought him the desserts he loved so much. Thank-you to Rev. Mike Stewart and Rev. Don Gardner for their support and care of Derek and family. Thank-you to the congregation of St. Matthews Anglican Church for your prayers for Derek.
Services will be held on Friday June 11th. Viewing 10am-12pm: Society’s First Alternative Services 3070 275th St. in Aldergrove with an interment at 2:00 pm: MacLure Rd Mennonite Cemetery in Abbotsford and Memorial Service to begin at 3:30pm St. Matthews Anglican Church 2010 Guilford Dr. Abbotsford.
