Dick Chell aged 90 years passed away peacefully in the early hours of December 17, 2018.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife of almost 66 years, Betty Lou, his children Anne, Alan (Linda), Joe (Pat) and Nancy (Bill), 12 grandchildren, and 11 - soon to be 12 - great grandchildren. He was predeceased by one son in law.
Dick taught in the Langley School district for 34 years. Dick was an active member of Sharon United Church (now part of the United Churches of Langley) and was an active volunteer in the community, volunteering with the Langley Retired Teachers' Association, the Canadian Cancer Society and the Langley Centennial Museum.
Dick enjoyed camping, hiking, reading, card games, travelling and most especially trips to Disneyland. Dick was a lifelong fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Dick was named Langley Senior Citizen of the Year in 1993.
A celebration of his life will be held December 23, 2017 at 2 pm at the United Churches of Langley, Murrayville - 21562 Old Yale Road, Langley. Reception following.
In lieu of flowers it was Dick's wish that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the United Churches of Langley or a charity of your choice.
