Donna was born on May 20, 1960 at Burnaby General Hospital and passed away peacefully at home on October 29, 2021 at the age of 61. Donna is survived by her husband of 15 years Rick Hansum, daughters Alicia (Tyler) and Christie (Corey) Duncan, her mother Alfreda Stunder and siblings Sharon (Allan) Stunder, Diane Nimmo and Gary (Karen) Stunder. Brother-in-laws Tom (Cindy), Dave (Elenor) and Mike (Lori) Hansum. Stepsons Terry (Lori) and Chad Hansum. Grandchildren Aidan and Natalie Sebel, Autumn and Declan O'Grady, Nyah, Hannah, Judah and Silas Hansum. Nephews Lony, Gregory and niece Carly Stunder. She is predeceased by her father Leontin Stunder.
Donna trained as a Psychiatric Nurse at BCIT and later finished her degree in Psychiatric Nursing at Douglas College. She was highly regarded in her field and spent the majority of her career at Maple Ridge Mental Health before moving to Abbotsford Mental Health and later Mission Mental Health before retiring in 2016.
Donna loved to travel and had an immense joy for life. She brought light and love to all who knew her and is dearly missed by her family, who meant the world to her.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring of 2022.
