Eileen "Eleana" Borsato

June 5, 2019

June 5, 2019
Eileen was known for her love of family, music, warmth, generosity, entertaining spirit and elegant style. Eileen passed away peacefully on June 5, 2019 and will be reunited with Mario, her devoted husband of 69 years who passed away in 2018.
Eileen was born in Trail BC on July 8, 1928 and spent most of her life first in Langley helping Mario build a well-respected business and then retiring early to Vancouver. The great and enduring loves of Eileen's life were her husband, children, grandchildren, the family she grew up in, and, of course, her music. Eileen studied first as a concert musician, then as a music teacher. Next to family, music was a constant in Eileen's life. Classical music defined her but she appreciated all genres and was particularly keen to keep abreast of the latest artist who excited young people.
Eileen's vibrant personality, enormous energy and extraordinary musical talent entertained and influenced family and friends through many wonderful experiences. Whether knitting, cooking, baking or doing the daily crossword puzzle, Eileen endeavoured to do everything perfectly. She was known for her special desserts that became family favourites and are still copied today. Eileen loved bright new ideas and the energy of young people. Her vitality and varied interests which continued in her later years inspired all who knew her. Eileen was always ably and faithfully assisted by her devoted husband, Mario, whose quiet strength and support guided Eileen throughout their life together.
Eileen was very proud of her children Loraine (Christian), Laura (John), Roland (Louise); a loving and strong advocate for her grandchildren Eleana (Mike), Maria (Jeff), Alexa (Chris), Andrea (Cedric), Kate (Luke); and bis Nona to 8 great-grandchildren. Eileen also loved and was keen to follow the lives of her nieces and nephews, the children of her beloved sister and six brothers.
Although Eileen had been slipping away in the last few years, we know that her voice offering love and support, encouragement and inspiration will be with us wherever we may be. For now, we miss her. She loved and is loved.
The family wishes to express gratitude and appreciation for the caring support and assistance provided so well to Eileen by the Staff of the Royal Arch Masonic Home. We especially acknowledge our great appreciation for Director Mary Yates for her professional and caring leadership.
The family will have a gathering in remembrance at a later date.
