John Michael Hruby

September 26, 1949 - August 28, 2019
John passed away peacefully at his home in White River, South Africa Aug 28th 2019 just one month shy of his 70th birthday. He will be sorely missed by his wife Sue, sisters Louise (Graeme), Lorna (Fred), brother Greg (Lesley) many nieces, nephews and cousins.
John had been retired for a few years after working in the forestry industry all his life. In 1969 he helped to create Westcoast Cellufibre where he became General Manager until 2001. He then went on to work in the forestry industry in South Africa where he managed several sawmill and forestry operations before retiring. John built a beautiful house on the hill and spent the next few years landscaping his estate. His gregarious nature led to making many friends in South Africa where he enjoyed entertaining, golfing and travelling into various areas to view the abundant African wildlife. John lived his life to the fullest, his way, and was loved by all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held from 12 pm to 3 pm on 2019-11-09 at Northview Golf and Country, 6857 168 St, Surrey, BC.
