With great sadness we regretfully announce the sudden passing of Joseph Abondio DePedrina. Joe was a dedicated, loyal and loving husband, father, nonno, relative, friend and colleague. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carol, children Paul (Bronia), Andrew (Jennifer), Suzanne (Jeff) and 6 amazing grandchildren, Ava, Charlotte, Aylin, Evan, Everley, Henry, his brother Bruno (Elaine), brother-in-laws David (Sharon), Bob (Pam) and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Joe was born in Cino, Italy on May 6, 1948. In 1954 he and his family immigrated to Canada where they settled on a farm in Langley. He graduated from Langley Secondary High School in 1967 and then attended BCIT to become an electrician. He worked at Langley Electric and Goodbrand Construction before co-founding Bay Hill Contracting in 1986. His strong work ethic, commitment to the company, and knowledge earned him respect both within and outside the company. His legacy will live on at Bay Hill as will his reputation in the industry.
Joe was an excellent athlete. In his early years he played soccer and football. He was a founding member of the Langley Rugby Club, and an avid tennis and squash player. The friendships he developed through these activities were very important and long lasting.
To celebrate the life of Joe DePedrina, a service will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 20676 Fraser Highway, Langley, on Friday, November 8th at 2 pm. Refreshments to follow at: Newlands Golf and Country Club, 21025 - 48th Avenue, Langley at 3:30 pm.
The family has designated headsupguys.org for memorial contributions.
