Marie KING

February 19, 2005

KING: Marie Audrey (nee Jones). Born May 27, 1920, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 19, 2005 at Highland Lodge, Langley, B.C. with her son Patrick and daughter-in-law Deborah by her side.

Born in Moncton, NB, schooled in Prince Albert, SK, she later moved to BC's West Coast to raise her family. The beauty of the west coast, in particular English Bay and Stanley Park, never lost its allure for Marie.

Predeceased by her husband Mick in 2004, she is lovingly remembered by her children Sandra, Patrick and Kerry, by her grandchildren Patrick Jr, Anne-Marie and Jacob along with her many other relatives and friends all across the country.

Marie was open-minded to all beliefs and spent many years researching different religions. Studying her family geneology also kept her enthralled for many years. Music and the Arts played a big part in her life as did travel and gardening.

She also studied Tai-Chi for a number of years at the West End Community Centre. Marie was an avid reader of all subjects and prided herself on keeping up on all current events. Marie will be rememebered for her fiesty attitude, her ethics for honest, hard work and her generous, adventurous spirit by all those whose lives she touched.

The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at Highland Lodge for providing outstanding care and dignity to Marie since she joined them in July 2002. Memorial Service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
