June 27, 1954 - July 31, 2020
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Martha Christine June Barrell on July 31st 2020 at the age of 66. She was born on June 27th 1954 in Lac La Biche, Alberta. Martha was pre deceased by her husband Christopher Barrell and son Brent Barrell. She was a vivacious, loving, enthusiastic generous woman who lived life to the fullest. From her early twenties she was quite active and wasn't one to sit around. From travelling and camping to playing golf and tennis she fit this all in between helping Chris start their Antique business, support him in his real estate career and then on to run her own successful cleaning company and if that wasn't enough she also raised her two beautiful children Brent and Janelle and loved to spend her free time in the kitchen creating masterful meals. Even into her sixties she could be found running races with the children in her neighborhood along with her nephews and nieces children playing ball hockey and hanging out in the nearby parks. Christine loved to shop and it reflected in how she dressed and carried herself. She always looked great and had a smile on her face and anyone who met her could tell that she met every day with an expectation that it was going to be a great day. If you ever had the opportunity to visit her in any of her homes you knew she was meticulous and knew that everything had its place. She was an avid collector and she had a magnificent eye for decorating. We will miss her charisma, her hugs, her home made oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and her loving words.
Christine is predeceased by her brothers Gerald Desjarlais, David Liddle and James Desjarlais. She is survived by her beloved daughter Janelle Barrell, her brothers Frank Desjarlais (Dawn), George Liddle, and Donald Liddle. Her sisters Rose Desjarlais and Shirley Ferguson. Her love, laughter and generosity will be dearly missed by all.
