DOUGLAS, Mary Margaret (“Peggy”) (nee Harrold)
Born April 13, 1922 in Crystal Lake, AB, died peacefully September 26, 2008 in Langley, BC. Peggy is survived by her 5 children James, Richard, Robert, Elizabeth, Margaret, her 14 grandchildren, and her 8 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by Thomas, her husband of 55 years. Peggy was well known for her active service to the community. She was a WW II veteran, worked with the developmentally disabled, was a Girl Guide leader, school trustee for the Langley School District, member of the Douglas College Council, and lifetime member of the Langley Senior Resources Centre. Peggy will not only be missed by her family and friends but also by those at Zion Park Manor in Cloverdale where she made her home for the last 5 years. A celebration of Peggy’s life and reception will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 5950-179 St., Surrey on Saturday, October 25, 2008 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Peggy’s memory can be made to Zion Park Manor or Langley Senior Resources Society.
