EMBLETON, Matthew Storey. Born September 4, 1915 in Vancouver, B.C. Died February 17, 2009 in Langley, B.C. at Highland Lodge. Predeceased by his loving wife Ethel of 70 years. Matt leaves his grandchildren, Laurie (Gordon), Valerie (Scott), Cathy (Pete), Carol, Tracy, Christopher, Blair, Bruce (Lynn). Great-grandchildren Paul, Kristen (Lee), Katie, Jenna, Ryan, Colt, Craig (Angela), Kyle and Neil. His great-great-granddaughter Ava Lauren Storey. Matt will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews.
Matt loved his family around him and together with Ethel, they formed a great family unit with many traditions that we carry on today.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Highland Lodge for the care and compassion that was shown to Matt in his last days. He spoke very fondly of everyone there and was very grateful for everything that was done for him. A special thank you to Dr. Kenneth Ng, for "always being there" for the whole family. All five generations of us.
A Memorial Service will be held at Henderson's Funeral Home in Langley, at 20786 Fraser Hwy., Saturday, March 14 at 10 am. Reception to follow after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
