On April 21, 2020, at Brookside Lodge Nursing Home in Langley, Monty Grant passed away of natural causes.
Born May 14, 1924, Monty served in the British army and emigrated to Canada with his wife Mary and two daughters after World War II. They lived in Hamilton and Winnipeg before settling in Langley, where they had a son in 1957.
Monty retired from Teleglobe Canada and built Grant's Landing Houseboat Marina in Fort Langley with his partner Marlyn Sparks.
Pre-deceased by father Samuel, mother Sophie, sister Fay and wife Mary, he is survived by daughters Susan and Jennifer, son Michael, Michael's wife Teresa, grandchildren Barrie, Elizabeth, Simon, Adrienne and Mark, Simon's wife Sascha and great grandchildren Rachel and Morgan.
He was known for his intelligence, vision and free spirit. Donations on his behalf will be gratefully accepted by the Decode Literacy Foundation.
