In Loving Memory of Our Son ~

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Son Richard Alan Skrukwa on March 1, 2024 at Surrey Memorial Hospital.

Richard was born in St. Paul's Hospital on a sunny / rainy Tuesday afternoon. He was always a happy, cheery baby with a big smile and full of hugs & love.

He attended McMillan Elementary in Abbotsford for his primary years as well as Uplands Elementary in Langley.

He was always the tallest boy with the longest eyelashes in his class. Richard made many life long friends in Langley, too many to mention. You know who you are. He was an avid biker, outdoorsman, baseball, lacrosse, skiing, and of course Sports Day.

For High School Richard attended H.D. Stafford in Langley from Grade 8 - 12. He graduated in June 1996 and we were so proud of him always. He cherished his friends plus would give them the jacket off his back. He was kind to all plus was a good son.

In the early 2000's Richard and a friend replied to an ad and flew off to Seoul, Korea to teach English to kids & young people. It was there he met his future wife Yujin, and they married in 2011 and later started their little family. They had twins Kayden and Ava in September 2019 and returned to Canada in summer 2020.

We were so happy for them and us.

Richard found employment with the Movie Industry where he was well received, until their labour disputes began. But Rich found Part-time work and we helped out. That is what family is all about, sharing and caring.

So please the next time you see a 6'3" smiling guy riding his bike to White Rock, remember our Richard, and Thank you for being part of His life.

Lovingly remembered forever

Mom Lorine and Step Dad - Jeff
