1926-2020 ~ It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mom Skuntla Lal, better known as Granny to all that knew and loved her. She passed away peacefully at Langley Memorial Hospital on December 29, 2020 at the age of 94. She was born en-route to Canada onboard a British passenger ship, Empress of Canada in the international waters in 1926.
She was the daughter of Jagdish Ram (Joe Shori) and mother Bhagwanti. Granny was married to her husband Mohan Lal (Baba) for 52 years who preceded her in death in 1991.
Granny was predeceased by her son Dal, granddaughters Devinder Efford and Vijay Sharma, brothers Mike and Tabi Shori, son-in-law Sadhu Brar, and her sisters Kashellia and Smitra Singh
She leaves behind her loving daughters, Mary Brar, Doreen Sharma, Sheila Bajwa, son-in-law's, Sudarshan Kumar and Bill Bajwa, and daughter-in-law Linda Lal; her grandchildren, Mindi (Rob) Lazeo, Rajvinder (Barry) Rhodes, Michael (Bhavni) Bajwa and David Bajwa; and many great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and a host of other family and friends. In the last two weeks, Granny welcomed the newest member of the family, her great-granddaughter, Ruhie Sharma.
She also leaves behind her sisters, Sylvia Mahal and her children, Romina Sengara and family, Rajen (Karen) Mahal and family, and Camilla Mahal; and her nephews, Azad, Marcus and Saunthe. She also leaves behind the extended families; Sharma, Ram, Brar families and so many more families and dear friends from India, Canada, and USA.
We will miss you dearly Granny, your memories will always stay in our hearts.
