It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William (Bill) David Ross, on January 4, 2020 at the age of 97.
A long since retired Canadian Forces Warrant Officer who enlisted at the young age of 16 in Verdun, QC,
bravely served in many battles during his time in the Army from 1939 to 1969, and well known for his golf clubs, stories and humour; Bill will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Bunny (Dwight) of Red Deer, AB; two sons: Ian (Marie) of Langley, BC and Rob (Deborah) of Yellowknife, NT; seven grandchildren:
Wayne (Wendy), Daryl, Shelley (Jeremiah), Tyler, Amy (Mark), Shaun, and Tanner (Kudzai); seven great grandchildren: Gaelin, Shylo, Reeve (Olivia), Randy, Maddison (Andrew), Baylee, and George; three great great grandchildren: Jaxon, Jaqueline and Xyden; as well as many relatives and friends. He was
predeceased by his loving wife of seventy years, Lois, in 2017; his three brothers: Harry, Jim and Malcolm; and his parents William and Charlotte.
The family would like to express gratitude to the staff of Harrison Landing for their care and compassion toward Bill.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion - Aldergrove Branch (26607 Fraser Hwy) at 2 PM on Thursday, January 16, 2020.
If any so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bill's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
