Don’t use handicapped spots unless you have a permit

Editor: This is a plea to people not to park in handicapped parking spots unless they have the proper permits. I am a 49-year-old woman with multiple sclerosis, and I need to park close to stores, as I don’t walk well. I walk with a cane and also use a scooter.

When I see an able-bodied person in a handicapped slot, and ask them why they parked there, they tell me “I was only there for a few seconds” or “I was really quick.”

Today we need that parking spot. Tomorrow, you might.
