Dear Editor,

I sit here in what was a calm Wednesday evening when I become informed of several players in a supposedly recreation hockey league at the Twin Rinks acting like bullying toddlers in what is an adult (?) recreation.

These four cowards invaded the league office at the rink shouting and screaming! Oh – and waving their sticks in threatening gestures at the lone young woman in the office. Yep – four, supposedly adult bullies picking on one young woman.

For decades I have been involved in the administration and commentary in sport, and I am all too familiar with the Little League parent syndrome that destroys the joy of sport for kids, for crying out loud.

This incident recalls, for me, almost the ultimate in bullying in the playground sandbox.

For shame on a rink, a municipality and a society that permits this garbage to survive.

Jim Leith, Langley Township
