Dear Editor,
My worst fears came when I heard that a motorcyclist died at the intersection of 72nd Avenue and 232nd Street.
I have been saying for years that someone was going to die at the intersection. I use that intersection every day to take my children to school, and it forces you to take your life into your own hands.
I literally dread pulling out of 72nd Avenue to head towards Highway One westbound. You have traffic coming from all directions, including the semi-trailers that pull up next to the Chevron, blocking the view of oncoming traffic (even though there are no-parking signs).
I was so upset that I phoned the Township. The lady I spoke to says she will send a surveyor down. I won’t hold my breath.
Put in some traffic lights or even a roundabout. We don’t want anymore tragedies before the Township takes action.
