Letter: Give locally when donating old items to charity

Editor: I often wonder why people give to Value Village. The only charity I could find they help is the Diabetes Association. They buy the items donated to the diabetic foundation.

Why not give to a charity right here in Langley? The Penny Pincher in Langley City donates all the money they make to the hospital.

I often hear people complain about waiting in the emergency. Well, if you give to the Penny Pincher you would be helping in making a difference here in your town. The Penny Pincher and the gift shop at the hospital recently donated $1.5 million to the hospital for the new emergency department.

We have a lot of volunteers working to make a difference for the hospital. Make sure you donations go to help the hospital in our city.
