Dear Editor,

Ladies and gentlemen of Brookswood/Fernridge, you have just received the proverbial “slap in the face.”

After almost two years of protracted communication between Modus, municipal tepresentative, developers and local citizenry, the new OCP plan has been unveiled.

The result? At the 11th hour, surreptitiously inserted a potential mass of 4,000 sqare foot lots, within and outside of a high density 160-acre commercial hub.

After this exhaustive and expensive programme, presumably based upon single family 7,000 sq. ft. residential lots, at the very last moment, we become Willoughby South.

Whether or not one agrees with high density is not the point for me. It is the deceitful, insulting and dishonourable way in with 4,000 sq. ft. lots have been introduced.

The new OCP goes to public hearing on June 27 at 6 p.m. I shall attend and courteously proffer my opinion. You also may wish to do the same.

Martin Allen, Brookswood
