I just read a news headline, which stated that the Township of Langley is concerned about development boom
How old of touch with reality can they possibly be? What did they think would happen when you have out of control development?
One of the councillors was concerned about the fact that a recent law by the province, turning single-family development into multiplexes, would put pressure on schools and hospitals. Yet those same counsellors approved the development of two high-rise apartments near the 200 Street interchange. You can’t get development any denser than that.
I don’t know if they realize this or not, but people in a high-rise use just as much water, have just as many kids in school, make just as many hospital visits as do people in multiplexes. We have a hospital that was recently expanded and was overcrowded even before the expansion was even finished.
Actions have consequences.
