Letter: MP Aldag, ‘Don’t support disastrous budget’

Editor: The following is an open letter to Cloverdale-Langley City MP John Aldag.

Dear Mr. Aldag: I have written a couple of times to you regarding disturbing situations and as of now, have never received any response from you or even your office.

I am a constituent in your riding and would appreciate some acknowledgment of the concerns that I have brought to you.

My newest and very grave concern is one that is deeply hidden in the new financial policy put forth by the Liberal party in recent days, and that is the statement that if a bank fails that it will be permitted to take the finances from the moneys that belong to the average citizen who has their funds in that bank.

The fact that the financial budget is putting Canada over its head in debt is going to take the bottom out of the security of Canada.

The government will be so financially strapped that it will be unable to help any bank that defaults.

And that means that each and every person who has saved for their future so as not to be a burden on society or the government will have their hard earned savings stolen from them by the government.

For the life of me I cannot understand why any thinking person would accept and promote such utter recklessness.

I can understand why the young people voted for the Liberals.

They think being over your head in debt is normal and they really don’t care even if they never pay their own personal debt off.

As long as they have everything they want.

That is the general attitude of today.

And it is what the Liberal government is promoting and exampling for us.

I am asking, no, begging you as a Liberal MP that you would offer some sense to your party policy and not just blindly support this disastrous budget. Please don’t sit idly by and let the government destroy our wonderful country.

We can not run our homes like this.

Please stand up for good sense and strongly oppose this situation.

I trust that you will read and consider the graveness of this situation and not simply ignore me as an opposer.

Canada has been the most stable and wonderful country in the world and your government has the ability to destroy that in one term — and if it continues as it has been going — it will destroy it.

Lois Hooks,

Langley
