Marcel Channon is concerned about the impact of trees falling along Anderson Creek. He noticed two more down on Jan. 28. (Special to the Langley Advance Times)

Dear Editor,

We have sent many emails and phone calls to the Township about trees falling across Anderson Creek, behind the Brookswood Water Park, and causing the creek to backup.

During the epic floods of two years ago, a very large evergreen tree and several smaller trees, fell over the creek.

During dry months, it is not much concern, but durning winter, the creek level rises and the tree acts as a dam.

With the increase of atmospheric rivers every winter, more and more of the banks is being eroded away and more trees are falling across the creek.

We just lost two beautiful alders [Jan. 28].

Our property is on the west side of Anderson Creek, and the water is creeping ever closer to our slope.

In the past, the Township has had to shell out hundreds of thousands of dollars to repair and shore up the properties of several houses that are on the west side of the ravine.

If the Township would listen and respond to the concerns of citizens who provide them with information, quick action could save the Township a lot of money.

Please, the Township must act on this when the creek level drops.

Thank you for your consideration,

Marcel Channon, Brookswood
