Editor: I read with interest a 2014 post about slow moving coal trains. I did so sitting in my car at 96 Avenue and 216 Street for the second day in a row at rush hour, waiting for 15 minutes as it passed.
Not only do I get the luxury of waiting once, as I live in Bedford Landing, I get to wait again one kilometre farther ahead, as it crosses 96 Avenue again.
And while this waiting gives me the chance to read the Langley Times, I would have preferred getting home to my family a little faster.
I work in healthcare and I truly do understand the need to balance safety with convenience.
I do this daily in my job.
However, I can’t help but question the need for these trains — that must travel slowly for a reason — to have to do so during rush hour.
