Dear Editor,
Kudos to whoever planned the 16th Avenue closure on the late afternoon, during rush hour, of June 5.
That test of the disaster evacuation route was a major success: no advanced warning, no signs, just a flagger directing rush hour traffic down a rural road.
I feel the instigator of this closure/test should be shown some kind of recognition from the community, perhaps Jackass of the Year award. I already have my award name picked, as this malfunction added 45 minutes to my daily commute.
