Editor: I read Dan Ferguson’s story in the July 25 issue of the Langley Times re: the fence and the condos.
I’m not sure what was there first, the condos or the Gateway of Hope.
Certainly not a gateway of hope for the good folks who put good money down for those condos. Trespassing, defecation, drug consumption, uneasiness and probably loss of property. Certainly loss of property value.
This is unfair to the property owners in the area to have such a facility so close to their homes. And now it is under serious consideration to provide a similar facility in another family-friendly area of the municipality of Langley where good, hard working people have put up their life savings to live in a safe, family friendly neighbourhood?
I’ve heard people on side with the Quality Inn conversion say there are no problems with the Gateway of Hope neighbourhood. But good for the unanimous vote to build a better fence.
They know the truth. Let’s hope that same unanimous vote will prevent the need for a better fence at the Quality Inn.
